Which ticket actually has the lesson
Madero Tango's own VIP dinner-show page lists a tango lesson among the package's inclusions, and the Black tier carries the same VIP inclusions on top of its premium menu. The Only Show, Stalls and Executive options go straight from arrival to dinner and the stage — no lesson is listed on any of those three, so it's worth checking the exact option on your confirmation rather than assuming.
Who teaches it
The lesson is led on the floor by a member of the house company rather than an outside instructor brought in for the purpose, which keeps it inside the same room and the same evening rather than a separate booking beforehand.
What's actually covered
A pre-dinner lesson at a venue built for a mixed audience of first-timers is not the place to expect turns, ochos or anything from the company's own repertoire — it covers the basic walk and the closed embrace, enough to feel the rhythm and follow a partner for a few bars once the music starts later in the show.
How long it runs
The lesson sits ahead of dinner in the evening's running order, kept short enough that it doesn't push the dinner service or the show itself later — treat it as a warm-up rather than a full class with its own separate time slot.
What to wear on your feet
Closed shoes with a low heel or a flat, smooth sole hold up better on a shared dance floor than open sandals or anything with a chunky tread — nothing more specialised than ordinary smart shoes is expected of someone doing this for the first time.
If dancing isn't for you
The lesson is optional in practice even when it's included on your ticket — nobody is required to get up, and watching from the table while the room warms up is a normal way to spend those few minutes before dinner arrives.
